On Sunday July 31st Tiger Moth OO-BYL took to the air for its first flight after restoration with Fred & Alex Vormezeele on board. It was a perfect first flight, with everything performing as expected.
T-28 Trojan N343NA was sold through FastAero last month. On July 15th this beautiful T-28 departed Antwerp for delivery to its new owner in Germany. Frédéric had the honors to fly the CHOD’s last mission, and this in TF-51D “Scat VII”. It was a fantastic flight at 9000ft in blue skies and above the clouds, flying loops, cubans and barrels.
The FastAero-team was present at the Florennes Airshow with Frédéric displaying ScatVII. Peter “Celle” Celis was flying the T28 in a very tight formation and Kris Van den Bergh displayed the Red Devil Fouga, which was a big “première” in Belgium!
FastAero got contracted to carry out further testflights on P-51D PH-JAT “Trusty Rusty” out of Lelystad. The first testflights dated back to early 2012, at which time a problem with the propeller’s constant speed unit arised. The Hawker Fury’s engine has come back from Mike Nixon after repair work. The engine was installed today, Friday April 22nd. We are now waiting for the Fuel Control Unit, which is being overhauled.
